CIBER would like to give a special congratulations to Dylan Lynch for a successful thesis defense!
Dylan’s primary research focus was common bean. Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is one of the most important food legumes for human consumption. They are faced with abiotic factors of salinity and biotic factors of fungal root pathogens that both lower production worldwide. We aimed to find out how salinity influences the growth of these root rot pathogens and then apply these factors under a combined stress evaluation on the whole bean plants.
- Plant pathology and MGEL laboratory
- Research on fungal pathogens of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris)
- Research involved evaluating how salinity influences fungal pathogen growth
- How simultaneous abiotic and biotic factors influence disease severity on common bean
